TotalEnergies EP Nederland B.V.

Our activities
TotalEnergies EP Nederland is a major gas producer in the Netherlands, with an annual production of approximately 1 billion cubic meters, or about 18% of Dutch offshore gas production. TotalEnergies EP Nederland has been active in the exploration and production of natural gas onshore in the Netherlands (until 2004) and offshore in the Dutch sector of the North Sea since 1964. Our offshore production facilities are located between 80 and 150 kilometers northwest of Den Helder.

From our logistics base in Den Helder, we provide support to our offshore operations and remotely monitor and control the gas production from 15 offshore platforms and 4 subsea production installations. We use a walk-to-work vessel, helicopters, and supply vessels to transport our crews and goods between our offshore installations and shore. Most of our support functions are based at TotalEnergies' head office in the Netherlands, located in The Hague.

As a subsidiary of TotalEnergies S.E., one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies, TotalEnergies EP Nederland has access to the latest expertise and innovations in gas production and exploration technologies. This ensures that we can continue to produce gas from some of the world’s most mature fields in the North Sea area.

Our people
TotalEnergies EP Nederland directly employs approximately 160 people and indirectly provides work for at least another 150 people. Safety is TotalEnergies' core value and is at the heart of everything we do, with the aim of ensuring that our people return home safely at the end of each working day. Pioneering spirit, a constant drive to innovate and challenge the status quo are the elements that make up our unique culture.

Our responsibility
TotalEnergies is transforming and reinforcing its ambition to be a world class player in the energy transition and to reach net zero in 2050, together with society. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is one of the solutions that will help achieve this goal. As TotalEnergies EP Nederland, we will contribute to this by participating in the Aramis CCS initiative.

Our history

Within just a few years, there were at least four major players (NAM, Chevron, Mobil and BP) actively exploring for oil and gas in the Netherlands.
